Divergence tracks BBC as center, based on coverage monitored since March 2026. Across 927 scored events (1,735 articles), its coverage diverges from the cross-spectrum consensus at an average of 24 out of 100, roughly in line with the site-wide average of 26.
Its most common framing is neutral (80% of events, followed by critical at 9%). In 20% of the events it covers, BBC takes a framing no other outlet in the cluster shares, one of the higher contrarian rates we track. Coverage concentrates on politics and war.
Measured across shared events, BBC frames stories most like Financial Times (79%), Reuters (77%) and Defense One (75%), and least like The Federalist (9% agreement).
