Former President Joe Biden sues the Justice Department to block release of audio recordings from biographer interviews.

Former President Joe Biden filed a lawsuit on Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to prevent the DOJ from releasing approximately 70 hours of audio files and transcripts from interviews with ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer. The recordings, made in 2016 and 2017 for Biden's memoir, were part of Special Counsel Robert Hur's investigation into Biden's handling of classified documents. The DOJ had planned to release the materials to the House Judiciary Committee and the Heritage Foundation on June 15 in response to FOIA requests.
