KFF poll shows 55 percent of ACA enrollees cutting spending on food and household items to afford higher health care costs
A new KFF poll released Thursday found that 55 percent of ACA Marketplace enrollees are cutting back on spending for food, clothing and other basic household items to afford health care costs. About 8 in 10 Americans who re-enrolled in ACA marketplace coverage say their health care costs are higher this year, with the main reason being the December 31 expiration of enhanced tax credits. The poll surveyed 1,117 Americans who had ACA marketplace coverage in 2025 and was conducted in February and March.
