The Justice Department issued an addendum to a settlement agreement, signed by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, that permanently bars the IRS from pursuing or examining past tax claims against President Trump, his family, and his businesses. This addendum expands a prior settlement resolving Trump's $10 billion lawsuit over the leak of his tax returns, which also established a $1.776 billion 'Anti-Weaponization Fund' to compensate individuals who allege they were unfairly targeted by prior administrations. A DOJ spokesperson stated the waiver only applies to existing audits, not future ones.
