Minnesota prosecutor charges ICE officer Christian Castro in shooting of Venezuelan immigrant Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis
Hennepl County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced Monday that ICE officer Christian Castro was charged with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime in the January 14 shooting of Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, a Venezuelan man. Federal authorities had initially accused Sosa-Celis and another man of attacking an officer, but a federal judge dismissed the charges and opened an investigation after DHS placed two ICE agents on administrative leave for making false statements under oath about the incident.
