Rhodes, 36, of Berlin, New Jersey, was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree arson and manufacturing an explosive device after allegedly igniting camping fuel and fireworks in the children's clothing section of a Walmart in Elkton, Maryland on April 29. He stole approximately $10,000 in jewelry from the store's counter during the commotion and fled on a motorcycle. The fire caused around $5,000 in direct damage but resulted in an estimated $10 million in smoke and soot damage to inventory.
