Supreme Court Voting Rights Act ruling prompts voting rights rally and redistricting concerns across the South

Following a Supreme Court decision that weakened the Voting Rights Act, activists and Black Democrats organized a major rally in Montgomery, Alabama to protest efforts by Republican-led states to redraw districts and reduce Black political representation. States including Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi and South Carolina are moving to eliminate Black-majority districts, with estimates suggesting up to 19 such seats could be eliminated across the South.
