House votes down resolution requiring congressional approval for continued military operations in Iran
The House of Representatives blocked a Democratic-led resolution on Thursday that would have required President Trump to obtain congressional authorization to continue military operations in Iran. This marks the third failed war powers resolution in the House since the conflict began in late February, and the tenth such measure across both chambers. Some Republicans, including Reps. Thomas Massie and Brian Fitzpatrick, crossed party lines to support the measure.

The split, in one line
Coverage now emphasizes GOP fracturing and veto-proof momentum: Times/Reuters stress institutional norm erosion, Hill tracks defectors, Al Jazeera frames resistance to strikes, while Politico/Axios highlight Republican defections and Democratic confidence in passing symbolic rebuke.
