Andrew Rice won a special election for Virginia's 98th House District with 62.5% of the vote compared to Democrat Cheryl Smith's 37.5%. The election was held to fill the seat vacated by the death of Republican Barry Knight in February. Rice will serve the remainder of Knight's two-year term.
