Federal prosecutors charge Synergy Marine and employee in Baltimore Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse
The U.S. Department of Justice announced criminal charges Tuesday against Singapore-based Synergy Marine Pte Ltd., India-based Synergy Maritime Pte Ltd., and technical superintendent Radhakrishnan Karthik Nair in connection with the March 2024 collapse of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge. The cargo ship Dali lost power twice in four minutes while departing the Port of Baltimore, crashing into the bridge and killing six construction workers. Charges include conspiracy, obstruction, false statements, and failure to notify the U.S. Coast Guard of known hazardous conditions.
