One Nation wins Farrer byelection in Australia
Australia's populist One Nation party won its first-ever lower house seat in the Farrer byelection in New South Wales on Saturday. Party candidate David Farley, a former agribusiness consultant, defeated independent Michelle Milthorpe with approximately 41-59% of the vote. The byelection was triggered by the resignation of Liberal MP Sussan Ley in February.
