Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller was projected to win the Democratic primary for Illinois' 2nd Congressional District, defeating former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and other candidates. The seat was vacated by Rep. Robin Kelly who left to run for Senate. Jackson's comeback attempt failed after he had resigned from Congress in 2012 and served prison time for corruption.
