NCAA announces expansion of March Madness tournaments to 76 teams each
The NCAA announced Thursday that both the men's and women's March Madness tournaments will expand from 68 to 76 teams starting next season. Eight additional games will be added to the first week, converting the current First Four into a larger Opening Round with 24 teams competing in 12 games. The NCAA will distribute over $131 million in new revenue to participating schools, with most new slots expected to go to power conference teams.
