The Supreme Court temporarily restored mifepristone telehealth and mail access after a 5th Circuit ruling restricted it
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Friday that a Biden-era FDA rule allowing mifepristone to be prescribed via telemedicine and delivered by mail was likely unlawful, narrowing access nationwide. Justice Samuel Alito issued an administrative stay Monday, temporarily restoring the prior access rules for at least one week while the full court considers emergency appeals from mifepristone manufacturers. Louisiana had filed the underlying lawsuit arguing the telemedicine rule undermined its abortion ban.
