A United Airlines Boeing 767-400 flying from Venice, Italy, struck a light pole and a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike while on final approach to Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday, May 4, 2026. The truck driver, Warren Boardley, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The NTSB and FAA have both launched investigations into the incident.
