Great White withdrawn from Kentucky Derby after throwing jockey at starting gate

Great White, a 1,370-pound horse with 22-1 odds, was spooked near the starting gate of the Kentucky Derby and threw jockey Alex Achard before falling. The horse was led off the track, reducing the field to 18 horses. Golden Tempo won the race with trainer Cherie DeVaux becoming the first female trainer to win the Kentucky Derby.
