President Trump announced Thursday he is nominating Dr. Nicole Saphier, a radiologist and former Fox News contributor, as surgeon general after withdrawing the nomination of Dr. Casey Means. Means' nomination had stalled in the Senate HELP committee over concerns about her qualifications, inactive medical license, and equivocal stance on vaccines. Saphier is the director of breast imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Monmouth and holds fellowships from the Mayo Clinic.
