Cole Allen detained pending trial after alleged assassination attempt at White House Correspondents' Dinner
Cole Thomas Allen, 31, appeared in federal court Thursday and agreed to remain jailed pending trial after allegedly entering the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday armed with a shotgun, pistol, and knives. A Secret Service officer was shot but survived due to a bullet-resistant vest. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro released security footage she says shows Allen shooting the officer, stating there is no evidence of friendly fire.
