White House accuses China of industrial-scale theft of AI technology
Michael Kratsios, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, sent a memo to federal agency heads on Thursday accusing China-backed actors of running deliberate, industrial-scale campaigns to distill and copy American frontier AI models. The Trump administration plans to share intelligence on these campaigns with U.S. AI companies and help develop defenses.
