FBI rescues child taken to Cuba by transgender parent amid custody dispute

A ten-year-old child was taken to Cuba by biological father Rose Inessa-Ethington and partner Blue Inessa-Ethington after telling the mother they were going on a camping trip to Canada. The group crossed into Canada on March 29, 2026, then flew to Mexico City and on to Havana, Cuba. The FBI recovered the child after Cuban law enforcement located the group on April 16, 2026.
