Two CIA officers and two Mexican investigators were killed on Sunday when their vehicle veered off a mountain road and plunged into a ravine in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, while returning from an operation to destroy clandestine drug labs. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said her federal government had not been informed of the operation and ordered an investigation into whether Mexico's constitution and national security laws were violated. Mexico's security ministry determined that neither American agent had formal accreditation to conduct operational activities on Mexican soil.
