Two Southwest Airlines planes came dangerously close near Nashville International Airport
Two Southwest Airlines flights came within approximately 500 feet of each other vertically near Nashville International Airport on Saturday at around 5:30 p.m. The FAA is investigating the incident, which began when Southwest Flight 507 executed a go-around due to gusty winds and was directed by air traffic control into the path of Southwest Flight 1152, which was taking off from a parallel runway. Both aircraft received onboard collision alerts and both flights ultimately landed or continued safely.
