NSA and other federal agencies are using Anthropic's Mythos AI model despite a Pentagon blacklist of the company
The National Security Agency is using Anthropic's Mythos Preview model even as the Department of Defense, which oversees the NSA, has labeled Anthropic a 'supply chain risk' and moved to cut off the company in February. Anthropic restricted access to Mythos to approximately 40 organizations due to its offensive cyber capabilities, with the NSA reportedly among unnamed agencies with access. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei met with White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Friday to discuss government use of Mythos and Anthropic's security practices.
