Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Maurice Leiter ruled that a civil lawsuit against Alec Baldwin over the 2021 Rust shooting can proceed to trial. The lawsuit was filed by gaffer Serge Svetnoy, who alleges Baldwin was negligent in the shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. A trial date has been provisionally set for October 12 if no settlement is reached.
