Construction workers in Kingston upon Hull discovered a 300-year-old cannon during excavation work
Construction workers found a cast-iron cannon believed to date from the late 17th to early 18th century while digging in Kingston upon Hull, UK. The cannon weighs over a ton and appears to have been decommissioned and repurposed as a mooring post. Archaeologists from Humber Field Archaeology examined the find, which was discovered during restoration work at Queen's Gardens.
