Additionally, many feeds (especially Google News-proxied sources like CNN, NYT, WSJ, WaPo) can take 10-20+ hours to index new articles. The pipeline also runs every 30 minutes, so there's always some inherent lag. 2 outlets

Reports of death of Jonathan, the world's oldest tortoise, were false rumors.

False reports circulated on April Fools' Day claiming that Jonathan, a 193-year-old tortoise considered the world's oldest living land animal, had died. The rumors were started by a cryptocurrency scammer but Jonathan is actually still alive.
