A 2,500-year-old golden helmet and two bracelets stolen from Dutch museum were recovered over a year after the theft
Romanian ancient artifacts including a golden helmet and two bracelets from 450BC were recovered more than a year after being stolen from the Drents Museum in Assen, Netherlands by an armed gang using explosives. The items were returned through negotiations with lawyers representing three suspects who will face trial later this month. A third bracelet remains missing and the theft had prompted diplomatic tensions between Romania and the Netherlands, resulting in €5.7m insurance compensation paid by the Dutch government.
