Education Department rescinds Title IX civil rights settlements with six schools over transgender student protections

The Trump administration's Education Department announced it would terminate civil rights settlements that previous administrations reached with five school districts and one college regarding transgender student protections under Title IX. The department said the agreements were based on illegal interpretations of Title IX that included gender identity protections. The affected institutions are Cape Henlopen School District, Delaware Valley School District, Fife School District, La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, Sacramento City Unified, and Taft College.
