Bomb threats force diversions and emergency landings of multiple flights across Europe, including an Aer Lingus Dublin-Rome flight diverted to a French airbase at Evreux
On Thursday, November 5, 2026, an Aer Lingus Airbus A320 flying from Dublin to Rome was diverted to the Evreux military airbase west of Paris after a bomb threat, escorted by French military aircraft. French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu's office said 151 passengers and six crew were moved to safety and a bomb squad was inspecting the plane. The incident followed a wave of bomb threats against European flights two days earlier on Tuesday, and additional threats on Thursday affected a Finnair flight escorted to Rome and three aircraft making emergency landings in Bulgaria.
