New York Attorney General Letitia James appoints former federal prosecutor Jacqueline Kelly to lead the reopened criminal investigation into sexual assault allegations at Cornell University.

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced on Wednesday that Jacqueline Kelly, a Cornell alumna and partner at Boies Schiller Flexner, will serve as outside counsel leading the investigation into a former student's allegations that several men raped her at a fraternity party in October 2024. Kelly previously worked as a federal prosecutor in Manhattan, overseeing sex crimes cases including those against Sean "Diddy" Combs and Peter Nygard. Governor Kathy Hochul appointed James as special prosecutor on Oct. 1 after losing faith in the Tompkins County district attorney, who had declined to bring charges.
