Nordic ice hockey federations refuse to play Russia in international tournaments after CAS reinstatement ruling

The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled on October 30, 2026 that the IIHF must reinstate Russian teams, starting with the world juniors in late December in western Canada. Finland announced its national teams would not play Russia while the war in Ukraine continues, and Denmark, Norway and Sweden followed with similar refusals ahead of the 2027 men's world championships in Germany.
