US intelligence sharing has slowed and in some cases stopped under the Trump administration, officials say
Eight current and former officials and people briefed on the matter said intelligence sharing on Iran and other global threats with Congress and across the federal government has slowed or temporarily stopped during Trump's second term. The CIA has stopped co-authoring assessments with the National Intelligence Council, and lawmakers briefly stopped receiving reports after the June 2025 US military intervention in Iran and after the January 2026 capture of Nicolás Maduro. The CIA said it participates fully in intelligence assessments through the Presidential Daily Brief and the NIC.
