Iran's IRGC Navy says two oil tankers exploded after hitting mines in the Strait of Hormuz

An IRGC Navy spokesperson said two oil tankers exploded after striking naval mines while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on an unauthorized route with navigation systems disabled. The spokesperson said one vessel was a supertanker engulfed in flames and that the tankers' owners bear responsibility. UKMTO separately reported a tanker struck by an unknown projectile the same day.
