Federal judge blocks Trump administration's Medicaid 'medically frail' work requirement rule

U.S. District Judge Richard Stearns in Boston issued a temporary injunction blocking the Trump administration's June CMS rule interpreting the 'medically frail' exception to Medicaid work requirements. The rule required enrollees to show their conditions 'significantly impair' their ability to comply with community engagement requirements. Stearns sided with 25 Democrat-led states that sued, finding the definition unlawful.
