Israel's parliamentary election produces no clear winner as vote-counting continues and fraud allegations surface
Israel's Knesset election left neither major bloc with the 61 seats needed for a majority, with Netanyahu's bloc projected at 53 seats, the opposition bloc at 48, and Arab-led parties at a historic 19. The Central Elections Committee asked Shin Bet to investigate alleged foreign interference, a request Netanyahu cited to argue against cooperating with Arab-led parties. Final results awaited counting of roughly half a million absentee ballots, with certification required by Nov. 4.
