Israel's 2026 election produces no clear majority, with Netanyahu's bloc leading but short of 61 seats

Partial results from Israel's election on October 27, 2026 showed Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing bloc on track for about 53 seats in the 120-seat Knesset, against roughly 48 for Gadi Eisenkot's opposition bloc, with Arab-led parties projected at an unprecedented 19 seats. Neither bloc reached the 61 seats needed to form a government, and hundreds of thousands of absentee ballots remained to be counted. President Isaac Herzog was set to begin consultations once official results were certified.
