Treasury sanctions 10 North Koreans and Russians and one entity over North Korean IT worker fraud scheme

The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctioned 10 individuals, eight North Korean nationals and two Russian nationals, plus the Russia-based First Financial and Technical Development Center on Wednesday. The designations target a scheme in which North Korean operatives pose as IT professionals to obtain jobs at U.S. and allied companies and funnel proceeds to the regime, including its weapons programs. All U.S.-linked property of the designated persons is blocked.
