Israel holds national election with no bloc winning a Knesset majority as votes are counted

Israelis voted on Tuesday in the first national election since the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack. As of Wednesday, with partial votes counted, neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing bloc nor Gadi Eisenkot's opposition bloc had reached the 61 seats needed for a majority in the 120-seat Knesset. Turnout was 77.7%, the highest in more than two decades. Final results were expected in the coming days.
