Just after midnight on Wednesday, a knife-wielding minor attacked a Gendarmerie guard outside the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade and was shot dead in self-defense. Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic called it a terrorist attack, raised the terror threat to the highest level, and said the assailant was an Islamic State supporter who shouted 'Allahu Akbar.' The guard was lightly wounded and no embassy staff were hurt.
