US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faces widespread rebuke over remarks claiming Arabs do not produce science or literature

At a campaign event in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Monday supporting Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers, US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Arabs do not produce science, win Nobel, Fields or Wolf prizes, or produce literature. Civil rights groups including the Council on American-Islamic Relations, healthcare advocates and Democrats condemned the remarks as racist and factually false. Kennedy was also in Michigan to promote funding for Detroit's health department.
