Trump advisers reportedly see opportunities in working with Netanyahu's rivals if he loses the Israeli election
Axios reported that US President Donald Trump's advisers are optimistic about working with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's opposition should he lose the upcoming election. Trump endorsed Netanyahu on Tuesday after weeks of hesitation, though many of his closest advisers opposed the endorsement. The reporting comes as a Maariv poll showed the opposition bloc widening its lead to 54 seats versus 48 for Netanyahu's bloc ahead of the October 27 election.
