Foreign ministers from eight countries met in Istanbul and urged the US and Israel to avoid new strikes on Iran.

Ministers from the E3 (UK, France, Germany), the R4 group (Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt) and Italy met in Istanbul on Friday to discuss the Strait of Hormuz and regional conflicts. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said no participant approved of another military intervention in Iran, and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot warned escalation would hurt hydrocarbon prices. The group also discussed Gaza, Yemen and the Russia-Ukraine war.
