Researchers say satellite imagery shows Saudi Arabia expanding its al-Duwadimi ballistic missile plant to build larger solid-fuel missiles.
Two researchers at the Foreign Policy Research Institute analyzed commercial satellite images from Planet Labs taken between April 2025 and September 2026 of the al-Duwadimi complex about 200 km west of Riyadh. They assessed that a new building at least twice the size of the existing casting-pit facility houses new casting pits, suggesting production of larger solid-fuel missiles with longer range or heavier payloads. Saudi officials did not respond to requests for comment.
