South Korea proposes military talks with North Korea to confirm border line and restore communication channels

South Korea's Defense Ministry on Friday proposed military talks with North Korea aimed at mutually confirming the precise location of the Military Demarcation Line and restoring military communication lines. The proposal follows a September landmine blast in the DMZ that injured three South Korean soldiers, which Seoul blamed on North Korean mines and Pyongyang rejected. North Korea recently moved new troops into "firing positions" along the border, according to Kim Yo Jong.
