Supreme Court allows New Hampshire to enforce full ban on student IDs for voting ahead of midterms

The Supreme Court issued an unsigned emergency order on Thursday staying a federal judge's October 2 injunction that had blocked New Hampshire's directive barring student IDs as a backup form of voter identification. The order invoked the Purcell principle against altering election rules close to an election. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was the lone public dissenter.
