Brent crude oil prices rose to a five-month high amid Middle East supply concerns from the Iran war and Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.

Brent crude rose above $114-117 a barrel on Friday, its highest level since April or May, as the US-Iran war neared its eighth month. Attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels on Saudi Arabia and threats to the Strait of Hormuz raised fears of supply disruption, and reports that the US and Israel might renew strikes on Iran after the midterms added to the concern. US gasoline averaged $4.29 a gallon and the S&P 500 fell 0.5%.
