Abbott Laboratories announced plans to spin off its nutrition business into an independent company and reported quarterly results.
Abbott said it will separate its nutrition unit, which includes Similac and Pedialyte and generates about $8.5 billion in annual sales, into an independent company, with the transaction expected to close by the end of 2027. The company reported quarterly net sales of $13.01 billion, up more than 14%, while profit fell to $920 million from $1.64 billion a year earlier. Abbott also lowered its full-year 2026 adjusted earnings and sales growth guidance.
