Additionally, many feeds (especially Google News-proxied sources like CNN, NYT, WSJ, WaPo) can take 10-20+ hours to index new articles. The pipeline also runs every 30 minutes, so there's always some inherent lag. 3 outlets
The Gambia receives over $2.5 million from the sale of Yahya Jammeh's Maryland mansion to fund victim reparations
The Gambia Reparations Commission confirmed it received just over $2.5 million from the US forfeiture sale of a Potomac, Maryland property belonging to former President Yahya Jammeh. The funds were deposited into the Reparations Fund at the Central Bank of The Gambia and are designated solely for payments to victims of abuses during Jammeh's 22-year rule ending in 2017. The US Justice Department filed a civil forfeiture complaint in 2020 and announced in September it would return the proceeds to The Gambia.

The split, in one line
Both outlets report the same transfer and the same $2.5m reparations fund. Al Jazeera adds the 240-250 victims killed and the corruption-forfeiture backstory; the Washington Times sticks to the bare announcement.
