Libya's eastern parliament ratifies the 2019 Turkey-Libya maritime boundary memorandum

Libya's eastern-based House of Representatives voted unanimously on Tuesday to approve a 2019 maritime memorandum of understanding between Turkey and Libya's Tripoli-based Government of National Accord, reversing its 2020 rejection. Greece, Cyprus, Egypt and the EU rejected the ratification as null and void, while Turkey called the deal legitimate. The agreement delineates a maritime corridor between Turkey's southern coast and Libya's northern coast in a gas-rich area of the eastern Mediterranean.
