China's military says it monitored a US warship near Sabina Shoal in the South China Sea

China's Southern Theatre Command said the USS Charleston entered waters adjacent to Sabina Shoal in the Spratly Islands without approval in the early hours of Tuesday, and that PLA forces tracked the ship. The US 7th Fleet said the vessel conducted routine operations in international waters consistent with international law. Taiwan separately reported a standoff with a Chinese Coast Guard ship near the Pratas Islands.

The split, in one line
Most outlets carry Beijing's "illegally intruded" framing in the headline; only the Jerusalem Post pairs it with the US Navy's freedom of navigation defense and Manila's rejection of Chinese sovereignty. The wires run the Chinese statement nearly verbatim.
